What it is, in one line
A digital invitation gets forwarded on WhatsApp dozens of times, passing between people who know the couple but not you. The address is the first thing they judge. With your own domain that address is their names, not a link full of codes.

Watch out for “custom domains” that are really redirects
It is the easiest difference to hide when selling and the easiest to check in ten seconds. In a redirect your domain is just a signpost: the guest types luciaandmateo.com, the browser jumps to otherplatform.com/i/a1b2c3, and the name you paid for vanishes from the bar exactly when someone was about to read it.

Your domain serves the invitation itself. The bar keeps showing luciaandmateo.com while the guest opens it, confirms and leaves a message. The HTTPS certificate is issued for your domain, not ours, and renews on its own.
Check it yourself — here and anywhere else
- 1Type the domain in the browser, without “https://”. It must load the invitation.
- 2Look at the address bar once it has loaded. If it changed to another domain, it is a redirect.
- 3Tap the padlock and open the certificate. It must name your domain.
If a platform fails those three, what they sold you as your address is still theirs.

How it happens
You pick the name
Type it and we tell you straight away whether it is free. Searching does not hold a name, so claim it once you have decided.
We register and configure it
Registration, DNS and the security certificate — with no control panel to open and no TXT record to paste anywhere.
We email you when it is live
You get an email the moment the domain answers over HTTPS. It usually takes a few minutes; if the certificate takes longer it is still in progress and the email still comes.

Plainly stated
InvitiApp registers the domain and holds it for your invitation for one year. It is not a domain purchase in your name — which is why you never have to answer ICANN's verification email or remember to renew anything, the two things people forget in the month before the wedding. At the end of the year the domain expires; your invitation stays available at its InvitiApp address.
Common questions
Is the domain registered in my name?
No. InvitiApp is the ICANN registrant, and the domain is held for your invitation for a year. We do it this way to take ICANN verification and renewal off your plate — the two points where a domain quietly dies. If being the registered owner is what you want, buy it yourself at a registrar.
What happens when the year is up?
The domain expires and stops showing the invitation. The invitation is not deleted: it stays available at its InvitiApp address with everything in it. Write to us beforehand if you want to extend it.
Can I use a domain I already bought?
Not yet. Today the Max plan registers a new domain; connecting one you already own is not available.
How long until it works?
Usually a few minutes after you confirm the name. Registration is immediate; the security certificate is the part that can take longer. You get an email when it is ready, and you can keep editing the invitation meanwhile.
